About This Course

The ACI Online FX Global Code Exam is an excellent first step to test your knowledge of the FX Global Code. Published on 25 May 2017 and updated on 6 August 2018 by the Bank for International Settlements Foreign Exchange Working Group, the FX Global Code (FXGC) provides a common set of principles and guidelines to promote the integrity and effective functioning of the wholesale foreign exchange market.

This Exam has the following characteristics:

  • You can complete it on your own computer
  • It has a maximum duration of 1 hour, to be taken within 30 days since you first started the Exam (you can pause and return, provided the maximum duration hasn't been reached)
  • You have 40 questions to test your knowledge of the FX Global Code
  • The minimum pass level is 75% and respective Certificate will have a validity of 1 year to allow for continuous testing of the principles and guidelines of the FX Global Code (subsequent annual renewals are priced at 50€)

This programme is designed for all Market Participants defined by the FX Global Code, including:

  • Financial market participants across buy side, sell side and intermediary institutions
  • Regulators and central banks
  • Middle office and operations personnel
  • Compliance and risk officers

Niel Le Roux

Niel currently heads up the Cape Town Office of an Advisory firm, specializing in Foreign Exchange Risk Management and Derivative Structures. After gaining international experience with Credit Suisse, initially in London and later New York and Singapore, he returned to South Africa in 2009 and joined Barclays Capital in Structured FX Sales. He’s a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and CFA® charter holder. He is also a registered Dealer in the Equity and Currency Derivatives Markets on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Moving to a Front Office Dealing Role exposed him to a broad variety of clients ranging from Hedge Funds and Investment Managers looking for Analysis and Insight into macroeconomic factors and information flow, to corporations looking to hedge their currency exposure. During the years specialising in Foreign Exchange he has developed an in-depth knowledge of identifying and managing market risks. This, combined with his insight into the operational aspects of financial institutions, puts him in a unique position to evaluate the appropriateness of various hedging instruments and internal protocols that are available to mitigate the risks facing local corporations.
