About This Course

The ACI Diploma builds on the ACI Dealing Certificate and the ACI Operations Certificate and is designed to ensure that candidates acquire a superior theoretical and practical knowledge of the foreign exchange and money markets, their related instruments, and the linkages that exist between those markets and the practice of risk management. The qualification is designed for:

  • Senior foreign exchange and money market dealers
  • Corporate and bank treasurers
  • Senior operations staff
There is no obligation for candidates to have passed either the ACI Dealing Certificate or ACI Operations Certificate in order to be eligible to register for the ACI Diploma examination.

Andrew Kinsey

Andrew has worked in the South African financial markets for over 25 years. His diverse activities have included trading and marketing currency options and long-term forwards with major South African banks; and proprietary trading in South African fixed income, equity index and the single stock option arena. He also managed cash money market and foreign exchange trading rooms for a decade, and spent seven years as Head of Risk Management at an online trading company.

Andrew has delivered financial market training across a broad range of topics for the last decade in places as far afield as New York, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Accra and Johannesburg. Most recently he has been contributing regular contributor to a twice- weekly financial blog on politics, macro-economics, market strategies and Central Bank comment and analysis for retail clients.

Billy Viljoen

Billy has over 20 years of experience in the financial markets. He currently acts as a consultant to some of South Africa’s major corporate clients on treasury risk management. He has held senior positions at two of South Africa’s major financial institutions both in South Africa and New York with the most recent being director and head of FX Options sales at ABSA Capital where he was responsible for the bank’s FX structuring business across South Africa. He is considered a subject matter expert in foreign exchange derivatives Billy through his years has obtained unparalleled dynamic hedging experience as a corporate client advisor and derivative structurer to clients located across Africa, Europe and the Americas.
